Getting to know each other
We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at Shore Hope a great one!
SERVICE TIMES
Shore Hope has two locations.
Our traditional service is at our Victoria Point building, 8.30am every Sunday.
Our all ages service meets at 10.30am in the Performing Arts Complex of the Redland Bay State School.
Shore Hope Kids happens within the 10.30am service, during the sermon.
Redlands Youth meet 7pm every Friday night during term in Capalaba.
What can I expect?
HOW LONG IS A SHORE HOPE SERVICE?
In total, a Shore Hope service is about 70 minutes in length. Services begin with music - song lyrics are projected onto a screen so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. We spend time praying, hearing from one another and particularly from the Bible. Then one of our leaders will share an encouraging and hope-filled message from today's Bible reading about Jesus.
WHAT'S THE CULTURE LIKE AT SHORE HOPE?
We're a family church with a wide range of ages and life stages. We love the Southern Redlands and we love Jesus and we long for more people to share our hope. But we're real people with real problems and Jesus is teaching us that's nothing to be ashamed of.
Our Victoria Point service has a relaxed but traditional style of service. We sing well known hymns, regularly pray the Lord’s Prayer together and having morning tea after the service.
At Redland Bay the service is a little more contemporary. While we still choose songs with lyrics that speak of Jesus and remind us of what the Bible says, the music is more modern in style and there tends to be more interaction during the service.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
We believe that kids should get the chance to know Jesus, just like adults. At Shore Hope, we make this a priority. We provide Shore Hope Kids during the 10.30am service where they'll learn more about God in an age-appropriate way. The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process for our Shore Hope Kids program the first time that you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself an extra ten minutes to get signed in. Kids ministry is offered at every Shore Hope service during term for kids ages 3 through Grade 6.
