Kids Ministry at Shore Hope
At Shore Hope our kids (3 years to Grade 6) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.
We would love to see you and your family visit Shore Hope Kids.
Your first visit
Here's what to expect when visiting Shore Hope Kids for the first time:
First, mention to the people welcoming at the door that your kids want to visit Shore Hope Kids. They'll introduce you to the leaders and explain how Shore Hope Kids work.
For your first visit, when your kids head out, go out with them. The Kids Ministry team will help you check your child into our system.
Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):
Parent/guardian name(s)
Child's name
Child's birthdate
Home address
Phone number
Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children
This won't take long and you can head back in to be part of the service.
How Shore Hope Kids works
Before the service: kids are every bit a part of Shore Hope as are adults. So initially your kids come in and sit with you. We have an area at the back for families with toddlers or kids that may get restless.
During the service: we seek to involve kids during the service. We have a kids talk during the service so that you'll know what your kids are learning and can talk with them about it at home. And during the holidays we have activity sheets for during the sermon. Don't worry if your kids get restless. We're comfortable with a bit of noise.
Just before the sermon, kids are invited to head out to Shore Hope Kids to hear a message that is more age appropriate. After all, God wants everyone to be able to hear his message, understand it and respond with wonder (1 Corinthians 14:24-25). If you'd rather your kids stay in for the sermon, that's fine with us too. Every family is different.
After Service: When the sermon finishes we'll send someone out to let the leaders know. Your child will be brought back to the morning tea area. Kids are welcome to use the back playground area provided you are supervising them.
Kids in the service
If you'd rather your kids stay in the service, they're very welcome. We have an area with toys for the very youngest ones. And older kids can grab a copy of a fill-in-the-blanks which might help them follow the sermon and remember what is said. We try to make our services easy for anyone to be a part of.
